German Biscuits

2 pkgs. Dry yeast
1-cup warm water
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 cups buttermilk
½ cup oil
5 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
3 tablespoons baking powder
1-teaspoon salt

Mix dry yeast with warm water. When dissolved add baking soda into buttermilk. Then add cooking oil in large mixing bowl. Mix all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix wet ingredients with dry mixture and cover. Refrigerate 12 hours or overnight, spoon into well greased muffin pans. Let rise for 20 to 30 minutes at room temperature. Bake for 20 minutes in preheated oven at 400 degrees.
