Ultimate Hamburger
- 1 lb. ground medium lean beef (see Note)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup mayonnaise stirred with 2 tablespoons catsup
- and 1- tablespoon sweet pickle relish
- 8 hamburger buns split and toast
- 3 thick tomato slices
- 3 thin onion slices
- Dill-pickle spears (optional)
Shape beef in 3 thick patties. (If too compact, prick patties all over with fork) Heat skillet over medium high heat until drop
of water beads across surface. Sprinkle salt in skillet and grill patties 3 minutes on each side or until done as desired.
Spoon mayonnaise mixture on buns. Then place patty on bun. And then top with tomato and onion. Serve with pickle.
Note:Leanest beef produces dry burgers. Ground beef with 22 % fat produces juicier, more
flavorful burgers.
